Wavves King of the Beach

Admittedly, I was not a huge fan of the first two Wavves full-lengths and, given the public persona of Nathan Williams, I really didn’t want to like the new one.  But I do—prickly behavior, be damned.  Wavves has a considerably fuller sound this time around, thanks to two new members recruited from the late Jay Reatard’s band, and the production is clearer and crisper than ever.  It’s a surprisingly fun summer record:
